Mar. 03, 1957 - 17 Die In Giant Freighter Crash: 17 people were killed today when a giant R.A.F. Beverley transport plane crashed in flames and ploughed into houses in the village of Drayton, near Abingdon. Two of those who died were occupants of the wrecked houses, and the others were aboard the aircraft.
