Aug. 15, 1959 - Floine in Austria : Cloud bursts and 30 hours of rain caused a catastrophy in South - East Bavaria and Austria, even worse than the flooding in 1954. In the county Salzburg/Austria, the flooding are most terrible. Here the Salzach River was as high as it had not been since 1920. The water of the Salzachtore away one post of a autobahn-bridge. Consequently, the bridge collapsed. with this, the connection between Salzburg and Vienna is interrupted. So far, the damage is said to be about 35, millions Austrian Shillings
