Jul. 07, 1955 - Flood at Weymouth. People still marooned at Upwey: Six hundred people were made homeless by the floods which swept through the coastal town of Weymouth, Dorset today. Flood waters burst the banks of the rivers Brit and Asker bringing damage to the little holiday town of Bridport about fifteen miles west. Photo shows the scene at Upwey near Weymouth as flood waters broke through the hedges and wrecked buildings. Twenty five people were still marooned there this afternoon
