Jul. 07, 1955 - Floods in the West Country scene near Weymouth: Six hundred people were made homeless by the floods which caused damage and havoc in the West Country today. Flood waters burst the banks of the RIvers Brit and Asker bringing damage to the little holiday town of Bridport about fifteen miles west of Weymouth.
