Sep. 23, 1959 - 23-9-59 Fire causes heavy damage at Rootes Car Factory Fire which broke out at the Rootes factory, near Coventry last night caused widespread damage. It took firemen three hours, pumping 100 gallons of water a minute, before the blaze was got under control. Warwickshire Fire Brigade said it was the biggest blaze they had ever had to tackle.
