Apr. 16 A tragedy with a dog and a wife: Took place on a field-path of the Frankfort suburb Eckenheim. A nurses found the dead body of a wife completely bitten and nearly naked on the ground. Beside her was her four-years-old shepherd's dog. The nurse informed the police but the dog attacked everybody who wanted to see or to take away the dead body so thatt the dog had to be shot. At first they supposed that the dog had killed his mistress during an attack of canine madness. Then, however, they were of the opinion that the wife - she was the 58-years-old Adelheid Fenner, waitress at the Frankfort Municipal Stages - died on a heart failure, and the dog had then tried to drag away his mistress. when doing so he tore her all the clothing from the body and also tore out many pieces of flesh which he then dug in a nearby garden. The real cause of her death may only be found by a thorough dissection. Also the dog is to be dissected as there was non case of canine madness in Frankfort for several decades. Therefore the second version of this moving scene may probably the right one that the dog tried to rescue the dead body fro more attachment to his mistress
