Apr. 05 Bio earthquakes rock North Japan: Two violent earthquake struck an extensive area in Northern Japan on Thursday May. 17 1968, killing 38 people, injuring many, and destroying 500 buildings. Fires and tidal waves followed driving ships on the rocks, and sinking many fishing boat. It was the worst earth quake since the Good Friday earthquake in Alaska in 1964. The Northern Japan earthquake registered 7.3 on the Richter scale. Just short of the which leveled Tokyo and Yokohama in 1023 killing 100, 000 people. Worried women of Aomori City, one with her baby strapped to her back, stand by the door of their house which has been made unsafe by the earthquake, with their bedding and a few provisions, waiting transport to evacuate them from the devasted area
