Feb. 02, 1960 - 86 miners still closed in: For more than two days already, 86 miners are closed in 1100 m depth in the Karl Marx Mine in Zwickau/East-Germany. Life saving teams are working desperately against fire, smoke and gas. So far, they were able to rescue 40 miners, partly severely injured, and 38 bodies.
