Apr. 17 Worst Rain Showers Since More Than Hundred years At Frankfurt/Main (West Germany) The worst rain showers since beginning of Frequent meteorological observations at the year 1866 went down at beginning of this week at Frankfurt/Main (West Germany). They led to disastrous situations at the town and the envious. The firebrigade provided the state of emergency. After information of the German-Weather-Service fell while 24 hours 109.7 litre water to a square metre. The Flood lasted nearly 40 hours. Afflicted was also the Rhein-Main-Airport at Frankfurt (our picture). the deep garage which give place for 6000 cars had to be closed, feeler streets as well as tram, and the shopping centre where flooded. Passengers partial had to take involuntary foot baths
