Oct. 10, 1960 - Tube Driver Trapped Nine Hours In Crashed Train: 26-year old Underground train driver, Reginald Collins was trapped for nine hours in wrecked cabin of his train, . after it had crashed into buffers on a turn round side line near Tooting Broadway station, London. Driver Collins was finally released by recuse workers and taken to hospital. For four hours, a woman doctor, 40-year old Frances Ulyatt, gave the injured man pain killing drugs and talked to him as rescue teams fought to free him.
