Oct. 10, 1960 - Racing driver's steering wheel game off; Racing driver, Dennis Taylor was driving his Lols racing car into Draid's Corner at 70 miles an hour when the steering wheel came away in his hand. He braked herd at the bottom of flat-out Davids Hill, during the last meeting of the season at Brand's Hatch, yesterday, and swung into the band. Above the roar of his engine, spectators heard the snap as the leather bound wheel sheared from its mounting. Man and women ran for the lives as the car plounged into a bank.
