Feb. 15, 1961 - 15-2-61 Seventy three killed in Belgian air liner crash. Firemen with the burning wreckage The seventy two people aboard a Sabena Boeing 707 jet airliner were killed this morning when the machine crashed in flames and exploded as it was coming in to land at Brussels after a flight from New York. A farm worker was also killed by the blazing wreckage which was scattered for hundreds of yards over fields and a wood. The dead include the 17 members and the coach of the United States figure skating team, on way to compete in the world championships in Prague.
