Dec. 12, 1961 - Boeing Jet crashed near Mainz: A Boeing 720 jet of German Lufthansa crashed on a field Ebersheim near Mainz Germany, today. The Plane was on a check flight with a crew of 3 aboard, which was killed at the crash. The plane exploded when it hit the ground.
