1961 - Five dead in Train fire. Five people lost their lives on Thursday evening, when the Turin-Rome express caught fire after stopping in a tunnel to obey a red signal, near Bonassola, between Genoa and La Spezia. The fire is believed to have been caused by a short circuit. The train was full of passengers going on their Easter holidays. Photo Shows View of the damaged train after the fire
