Dec. 12, 1963 - London's Victoria Street Closed to Traffic. Building Collapses During Demolition Work. Rescue workers dug frantically last night when a six story building, which was being demolished, collapsed into the roadway, in London's Victoria Street, West minster. It was thought that two people had been trapped beneath the fallen ruble. It was found later that they must have managed to avoid the rubble. the street has been closed to traffic while clearing up operations progress.
