May 05, 1964 - School train crashes three die; A happy schoolchildren's day out turned to disaster today when their special train carrying them on an excusion to York, crashed at Cheadle Hulme station in Cheshire. Out of the 234 children and staff travelling on the train, early reports state that the children are known to have died, and at least 20 are injured.
