Jun. 06, 1964 - Disaster of the first lap: Motorcycle and sidecar crew Laurence Emmery, 32, of Croydon and Norman Huntingford of Peckham met with disaster on the first lap of an International sidecar on the Isle of Man T.T. course yesterday. Their machine took off on the notorious Ballaugh Bridge hump back and both were thrown up in the air. Essery is dangerously ill with head injuries, Huntingford is suffering from shock.
