Sep. 09, 1962 - Typhoon Amy swamps Taipei; Typhonn Amy with gusts of wind up to 90 miles an hour, pushed tropical rainclouds over Taipei. Flooding the Taiwan capital with five feet of water in the latest series of typhoons in the Far East this season. The storm killed 21 people and cause vast damage.
