Nov. 11, 1962 - Mystery Blast Wrecks Village in Essex and Injures Five People: An explosion shattered the Essex village of takely today when the local telephone automatic exchange blew up. Five people were injured and about 200 homes were damaged. One theory being investigated was that a spark from the automatic equipment ignited accumulated gas. Picture Shows: Mr. Bert William Laber surveys the damage to his car, wrecked while parked next to the garage. Part of the Garage fell on to the vehicle
