Aug. 07, 1965 - Four Die and Many Injured in East End Flour Mill Explosion. Four people were killed and 31 injured when a giant explosion tore apart and set ablaze a wheat storage silo at the Sun Flour Mills, St. Leonard's street, Bromley by bow, today. The explosion, which was heard for miles around sent blocks of the 60 foot wall of the mills crashing to the ground. Tons of rubble fell on lorries which were parked near the building.
