Jun. 19, 1965 - High - water in Passau: Since several weeks it is raining cats and dogs in South Germany. Little brooks grew up to torrent rivers, water overflowed streets, fields, cellars, flats and meadows, dykes are broken. but at most of all the Three-River-Town Passau was befallen. During the both last weeks the citizen of Passau, which are living in the city, were evacuated on Thursday (17.6.65) for the 4th time. In the streets of the Passauer city the water was 2 metres high, the town hall is to reach only by boats and contagious dangers threatened because dead rats swam through the streets. Slowly now the water of the Danube falls. Photo shows: Many of the overflowed streets in the city of Passau are passable only by boats.
