Jun. 19, 1965 - High - water in Passau: Since several weeks it is raining cats and dogs in South Germany. Little brooks grew up to torrent rivers, water overflowed streets, fields, cellars, flats and meadows, dykes are broken. but at most of all t Three-River-Town Passau was befallen. During the both last weeks the citizen of Passau, which are living in the city, were evacuated on Thursday (17.6.65) fro the 4th time. In the streets of the Passauer city the water was 2 metres high, the town hall is to reach only by boats and contgious dangers threatened because dead rats swam through the streets. slowly now the water of the Danube falls. Photo shows The overflowed small streets of the Passauer city are passable only over the temporary plank - bridges, which were erected by the German Army (Bundeswehr), or by boats
