Aug. 08, 1969 - Explosion in a blasting-powder factory cause 9 deads and 40 injured: Tuesday morning, a few minutes after the clocks announced the beginning of the work, the Federal explosive-factory in Dettiken, canton Aargau, was nearly totaly destroyed by a terrible explosion. The causes for this catastrophy are not known up to now. At least nine workers have been killed and about 40 injure. Four are still missing. The explosion wave has been resented even 20 km far from the center! Photo shows the very center of the explosion. A deep, 40 m large crater resulted
