1970 - Three Killed as Plane Crashes on House: Three people were killed yesterday when a twin engined Dove executive plane crashed on to a council house in Fordhouses, Wolverhampton, and set it on fire. The Dove's crew of two died and other victim was Mrs.Nellie Hilton, 51, who lived in the house hit by the plane. Mrs. Hilton's son, Paul, 24, a London schoolteacher, leapt from an upstairs window with his wife, Susan, as the house caught fire. They were taken to hospital and detained. The pilot of the 12-seater aircraft, Capt. Jack Miller, of Caddington, Luton, and First Officer Richard Davall, of Hatfield, Herts, had been in radio contact with Birmingham Airport only two or three minutes before the crash, which took place only 400 yards from Wolverhampton Airport, the plane's destination.
