Oct. 30, 1969 - October 30th 1969 20 die in Yugoslav earthquake 20 people were killed and more than 400 injured when an earthquake devastated the central Yugoslavian town of Banja Luka. The earthquake, on Monday, was the climax of a series of 13 which shock central and north-eastern Yugoslavia starting on Sunday afternoon. The death toll was kept down by the fact that most of the inhabitants of the town spent the night and morning in the open.
