Nov. 11, 1967 - Dramatic Fire Rescue: A mother and her two babies were rescued by firemen using a turntable ladder, when they were trapped after fire swept through a block of flats in the Gorbals, Glasgow. Firemen carried to safety Mrs. Sophie Strain and her children, Patrick, 18 months, and Edward, 6 months, and also a neighbour, Mrs. Christine McGroarty who became trapped when she went to help them.
