Accidents - Disasters - Fires - Floods - Tragedies

Oct. 10, 1971 - Explosion on the 31st Floor of the London Post Office Tower: At about 4 o'clock this morning a big explosion took place on the 31st floor of London's Post Office Tower just off Tettanhom Court Read, blowing a big hole in the side of the Tower. The blast smashed windows over a wide around the tower. It is thought that the blast was from a back placed in the ladies toilets. As it happened so early in the morning nobody was injured. Photo shows The 31st floor of the Post Office Tower with most of the floor blown out by the blast
