Jan. 31, 1972 - Man killed as Gas Blasts Rips Through Flats. A young man was killed yesterday when the end section of a three story block of flats collapsed after a gas explosion ripped through them. The explosion at Ascot Court in Winton Drive, Croxley Green, Herts, happened shortly after 5a.m. and scattered debris over a wide area.
