May 05, 1971 - Earthquake Disaster In Eastern Turkey More than 800 bodies were reported to have been recovered after Saturday's night earthquake in Eastern Turkey. The epicentre of the earthquake was near Bingol, a province of some 150, 000 inhabitants, levelling villages and towns.
