Feb. 02, 1972 - Ira bomb Wrecks an Officers mess at Aldershot Seven people are killed including five women: Seven people - five of them women civilians, a Roman Catholic padre and a male civilian were killed this afternoon when IRA terrorists planted a bomb near the officers mess of the 16th Parachute Brigade. At least 17 other people were injured - some seriously, The bomb, about 50 lbs of gelignite, was left outside the officers mess. Three other buildings were wrecked by the explosion, Photo shows a view of the officer's mess which was wrecked by the bomb explosion at Aldershot today
