Achille Zavatta, French circus clown, Paris
Dec. 20, 1976 - We sure his son will become just as big and famous as his father, Achille Zavatta, the most famous French clown of our time. The talent is innate for the Zavattas. Achille's parents, Frederic and Emma Zavatta, were themselves artists, and it was in the family circus that Achille made his debut when he was barely 3 years old. Today, at 61 years old, Achille has had a very successful career for 58 years in all kinds of circus acts, as well as the music-hall, the cinema, the radio, and the TV. After taking a break from the circus to take care of his son Frank (13 months), Achille just came back to La Piste. We haven't seen him in a Paris circus in 20 years. He is pictured here in the makeup that made him famous in his Paris apartment
