Feb. 24, 1972 - After one week, Dante Ottaviani remained on his lonely lonely parch on Romes ancient Colosseum protesting his right to obtain a street vendors license. His protest partner, Sabato Panico, came down after 48 hours of standing on a rim of the famed ruin. Panicos hands were nearly rigid with cold his muscles stiff. But he went home by himself, refussing firemens offes to take him to a hospital. Several tiems a year someone clambers up the Colosseum and threatens to jump or just not come down until such-and-such a request is granted.
