Activist - Protest - Riot - Strikes
Feb. 25 The Darkening Vale Of Belvoir: National Coal Board plans, to sink mines into 90- square miles of agricultural land in Conservation areas in Leicestershire, has brought strong opposition from a Duke right down to an Egg Producer. As the N.C.B put forward their claim that they must bridge an energy gap, which will come about by the 1990's the real argument led by The Duke of Rutland is whether it is necessary to ruin such valuable land and a Blue Stilton Cheese Industry, which has given fame to the area for generations. The Duke has already threatened to lie in front of any Bulldozers which may come onto his land and is right behind the Campaign to Protect the Vale of Behavior. With The Duke's Castle being in the heart of the Vale, it is a perfect Battlement on which to hold out against the N.C.B. Local M.P. Michael Lathem, along with the Vale Protection Group, have made an appeal Government in the hope to force them into setting up a full planning commission. Until such time a statement is made by the Government on the matter, a black cloud will leave the Vale darker in Belvoir. The Darkening Vale Of Belvoir: Showing a good hand of force but hopefully not necessary, as the Duke of Rutland poises jokingly, to show he is prepared to resort to his battlement guns to keep the N.C.B. off the Vale
