Nov. 24, 1969 - Nurses Launch A Letter War To Demand A Better Pai: Members of the public will be asked to sign up to a million letters - appealing to the Government for a pay rise for the nurses. The letters will be handed out in the streets throughout the country by the Royal College of Nursing. They will ask the people to sign their name and addresses and post the printed letters to the Social Services Minister, Mr. Richard Crossman. The letters ask Mr. Crossman to give the nurses justice in their fight for a substancial pay rise, - so that we can rely on their services for the future.
