Aug. 08, 1971 - OUTCRY AS OZ EDITORS ARE JAILED: Police and hippies fought a running battle outside the Old Bailey yesterday, Judge Michael Argyle. Q.C. was burned in effigy and Labour MP's joined a storm of Left-wing protest after the jailing of the three editors of the underground magazine Oz. The sentences, arising from the publications of Oz No. 28 Schoolkids Issue last year, were: Richard Neville, 29, - 15 months and recommend for deportation; James Anderson, 33 - 12 months; Felix Dennis, 24, Nine months. Oz Publication Ink Ltd. is fined a total of £1, 000 and ordered a pay one-quarter of the prosecution costs not exceeding £1, 200. They were found guilty a week ago of publishing an obscene article - the Schoolkids Issue, having 472 copies of the obscene magazine for publication for gain; and sending the obscene magazine through the post.
