Oct. 10, 1972 - World's Most Expensive Book Arrives.: The world's heaviest and most expensive book, known as the Apocalypse arrived at Heathrow Airport from Paris today. Weighing 460lbs, and valued conceived and realised by the French publisher Joseph foret, who devoted three years of his life to the vast work. The book is to be exhibited at the National Book League, as part of the National Book Week, from November 4-14. The Apocalypse consists if the text of Saint Joan, illustrated with original paintings by seven of the greatest painters of out time: salvador Dali Bernard Buffet, Leonor Pini, Foujita, Mathieu, Tremois, Zadkine. The bronze cover, enriched with gold and precious stones is the creation of Salvador Dali. Seven great writers contributed their thoughts and comments on the end of the world to the book: Jean Cocteau, Jean Rostand, Daniel Rope, Jean Guiton, Ernest Junger, Jean Giono, E.C. Ciora.
