Feb. 02, 1981 - RUPERT MURDOCH TAKES OVER TIMES NEWSPAPERS LTD: Mr Rupert Murdoch, who owns the News of the World and the Sun newspapers, is now about to take over Times Newspapers Ltd, after completing agreements with the Print Unions last night. The deal between Mr Murdoch's News International and the International Thomson Organisation, will be finalised today following three weeks of negotiations, which will result in the loss of 563 permanent jobs and more than 100 additional shifts on the paper.
