Aug. 08, 1945 - British Honour American Admiral: At Guam Admiral Chester W. NIMITZ, commander-in-chief of the Allied Naval Forces in the Pacific, received the order of the Knight Grand Cross of the Bath, one of the highest orders of the British Empire. Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser, Commander-in-chief of the British Pacific Fleet, representing his majesty King George, Bestowed the decoration aboard his flagship H.M.S.Duke of York, August, 1945.
