Nov. 19, 1980 - 19.11.1980: 80th Birthday of Austrian actor Adolf Wohlbruck: Adolf Wohlbruck was born on November 19th. 1900 in Vienna. His acting education he got from Karl Eberhart and later at the Reinhardt-actor-school. After engagements in Vienna, Munich and Dresden 1930 he came to Berlin, where he quickly became one of the most popular film-actors. Unforgotten are his films Maskerade, Zigeunerbaron (Gipsy Baron), Student von Prag and Allotria'. 1937 he emigrated to England and continued his career with the name Anton Walbrook. He played in successful films like Konigin Viktoria (Queen Victoria), Sixty Glorious Years, Dangerous Moonlight, The Rat, Gaslight, Colonel Blimp, Kurier des Zaren (The Tsar's Courier), The Man from Morocco, not to forget the world successes Die roten Schuhe (1948) (The Red Shoes), Der Reigen (1950) (The Round Dance) and Lola Montez ( 1955) After the war he was seen again on the German stage, under all in Dr. med. hiob Pratorious, as Bolingbroke in Ein Glas Wasser, (A Glass of Water), in Miller's Zwischenfall in Vichy (Incident in Vichy) and 1967 in the Noel Coward-comedy Duett in Zwielicht (Duet in Twilight). That was his last part on August 9th 1967 he died from a cardiac infarct in Feldafing, West Germany
