Aerial view of Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires, Argentina
1977 - New time in Argentina: Buenos Aires, Argentina, March 1977: In view of the forthcoming first anniversary March 24th of the Argentine Government who finished with the demagogic Peronist regime the atmosphere has changed already. For example the well known Plaza de Mayo in front of Government House, the preferred place where the peronists held their organised demonstrations and where the portraits of Peron, his wives and other peronist leaders filled the walls of the place, all this has changed. Now it is again the traditional and clean historical place and fine works of gardening, decorations and all kind of flowers embellish the Plaza de Mayo with the historic pyramid in the centre in memory of the time when Argentina obtained its Independence. A new system illuminates the plaza during the night and the people may spend again hours of tranquility and peace. Here is a new view obtained after the remodelling works finished, showing at one end of the Plaza the Casa Rosada (Goverment House) and at the other end begins the Avenida de Mayo.
