May 05, 1953 - Seretse's Tribe has a leader again: For the first time in three years the control of the Bamangwato tribe is to be placed in the hands of an African. In both Houses of Parliament it was announced yesterday that Rasebola I Kgamane, third in succession to Srts Khm in the line of chieftainship, is to be given the office or NAtive Authority. 47-year old ex-regimental sergeant-major, Rasebolai Kgamane will exercise native authority over the 18, 000 members of the Bamangwato tribe of Bchn land the 82, 000 people in their subordinate tribes.
