Aug. 19, 1953 - A Dictator takes off for Mecca. Egypt's strong man dictator, President Beguib, cast off his soldier's uniform and donned the white ceremonial robe that a Moslem wears on a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca (Saudi Arabia).
