Sep. 09, 1953 - Egyptian Ex-Premier on Trial in Cairo. Abdel Hadi accused of Treason: Ibrahim Abdel Hadi, leader of the dissolved Saadist Party appeared before the special Revolutionary Tribunal in Cairo. The first charge of the indictment accuses him of getting in touch with foreign circles with the object of damaging the present regime and harming the highest interests of the country'. The Tribunal is formed of three members of Gen. Negib's military junta all were obscure junior officers in the Egyptian Army when Abdel Hadi was head of the government.
