Mar. 03, 1956 - MODERN FAREWELL TO ANCIENT BACKGROUND: Last operational jet squadron of the Royal Air Force to leave Egypt under the Anglo-Egyptian Suez Canal Zone Bases Agreement was No. 208 (Fighter-Reconnaissance) Squadron, based in Egypt intermittently since 1920.
