Jan. 18, 1957 - Naval vessel surrendered to Israel by the Egyptians is taken into service of the Israel Navy: Mr. Ben Zvi the President of Israel was present at the ceremony of re-naming from Ibrahim I to Haiba of the former Egyptian warship. This is the vessel which surrendered to the Israel Navy during the recent clash between the two countries. Photo shows the Arabic names plate. Ibrahim I is take down and replaced by the new name Haifa
