May 05, 1958 - Ardeit Welcome for M Soustele in Algiers. He Lays Wreath on War Memorial. Police barriers were swept aside in Algiers yesterday when thousands of people, delarious with excitement pressed in on M. Jacques Soustelle, the Gaullist leader, as he laid a wreath on the war memorial. The whole city has been wild with excitement since he arrived by air after his dash from Paris. OPS: M.
