Sep. 06, 1961 - 6-9-61 African woman becomes editor of New Strand magazine It was announced today that Miss Noni Jabavu the South African author, broadcaster, critic and lecturer had been appointed editor of the New Strand Magazine. She was appointed by Mr. Ernest Kay, who is joint proprietor of the magazine with crime novelist John Greasey and Miss Jabavu has been appointed entirely on her qualifications, and because she will be able to inject her own personality into the magazine.
