Mar. 03, 1961 - The voice of Jomo Kenyatta - applauded at All-Africa people's conference in Cairo.: The voice of JOMO KENYATTA the convicted leader of the Mau Mau terrorists in Kenya- was heard by delegates at the All-African People's Conference in Cairo. The voice had been tape-recorded and taken to the conference by MR. TOM MBOYA, Secretary of the Kenya African National Union. Kenyatta is living under restriction in a remote Kenya Village - and this was the first time his voice had been heard after eight years of imprisonment. The delegates leaped to their feot shouting Jomo Jomo and applauded frantically.Tom Mboya told the conference Kenyatta is strong and fit - and is still the leader of Kenya - and No Government will be formed in Kenya - unless it is led by Kenyatta'.
