Jan. 01, 1961 - Ferhat Abbas in Singapore; When he stopped over in Singapore on his way to Kuala Lumpur after his official visit to Indonesia, Ferhat Abbas, the Prime minister of the Algerian Provisional Government, was given a warm welcome by the cosmopolitan Singaporeans. A mass rally was held in his honor by the left wing government, People's Action Party. The rally was loud and noisy, all thr while condemning Colonialism and the French Imperialists'.
