Jan. 01, 1964 - Sir Roy Welensky Cremated'. Members of the Nationalist organisation in Dares Salaam, representing political movements in Central Africa, have staged a procession to mark the end of the Rederation off Rhodesia and Nyasaland, and they carried a coffin containing a mock body of former Prime Minister Sir Roy Welensky through the main streets of Dar Es Salam. The body was later cremated, and the ashes thrown in the sea. Photo shows Sir Roy Welensky is cremated
